GLASSHOUSE PODIUM BAR CONCEPT

Modern Interior Design Concept - Redwah Design Concept

The Glass Podium Bar was a contemporary design conceived by Redwah twelve months prior to award-nominated venue, Green Moustache. Although the bar did not come to fruition, the inspiration and vision for the glasshouse-style project ultimately influenced aspects of the unique rooftop bar. Ruth was asked to produce venue concepts for the original retail space, including space planning, design direction flooring, all finishes and sketch detailing documentation as well as FF & E and styling.

The existing internal retail space was located at the base of an office tower and expanded out into the forecourt. The modern interior design concept was to create a new hospitality venue with a greenhouse and crystal palace style design, while also taking advantage of natural light in the area. Space planning of the venue included back of house areas such as the kitchen, wash-up waste management, toilets, cool room, store and office.

The bar layout design concept required marrying the existing inside space to the complete new-build external space. As such, materials for the bar were carefully considered. A mixture of clear, textured and coloured glass, alongside warm timbers, flagstone floors and layered rugs were suggested for the unique design. Antique metal ceiling panels and metal framework made reference to a classical conservatory style design, while layers of planting, old style street lamps and clusters of the overscale brick chimney pots added depth and structure at floor level.

A classical crystal palace style design, the modern interior design concept combined soft layering, eclectic furniture options and lighting to create a relaxed comfortable experience for venue guests.
