Green Moustache Rooftop Garden Bar and Restaurant

Restaurant Interior Design

Redwah worked in close collaboration with architect John Cochrane and builders Erilyan to create a playful and curious space for North Sydney’s first rooftop bar, Green Moustache.

The dramatic existing glazed façade provided the inspiration for redwah’s vision for this exceptional venue, with robust finishes used to provide texture, movement, and fun throughout the design. A custom floor mosaic tile was introduced to the outside spaces, and terrazzo-look floor tiles were cut to order to create a uniquely patterned floor.

Working closely with Diemme, custom painted artwork was developed and applied directly onto the new brick walls. The existing lift and stair shafts were clad with the same contemporary brick veneer, and mirrored corridors were added to playfully reflect the various lights, providing a little unexpected entertainment for patrons on their way to the bathrooms.

Across the front of the bar, undulating brick detail adds texture. Timber slatted acoustic ceilings were specified in some areas to reduce the noise disturbance from the exquisite hard floor finishes, while a cosy semi-circular fireplace enhances the atmosphere.

The greenhouse-like structure was enhanced with assorted plant life and faux hanging plants continue this theme into the internal area, creating a leafy escape for diners. Retractable awnings provide weather protection and enable maximum use of this oasis in the sky.

An inspiring addition to the North Sydney skyline, Green Moustache is now the perfect place to relax with a cocktail, and sample the local produce on offer. Nestled above the busy streets, it offers vistas worth savouring, and weaves exceptional service and produce with an innovative hospitality design.
