SUBSOLO TAPAS RESTAURANT
Restaurant Interior Design Concept - Redwah Project
Tucked away in a basement location, Subsolo Tapas Restaurant has a reputation for great tapas, wine and service. Working in collaboration with lighting designer Malaya Blonde, Redwah provided the client with a modern interior design concept, including space planning, design direction flooring, all finishes and sketch detailing documentation, as well as FF & E and styling to the existing basement venue.
The objective of the project was to lighten and brighten up the space, while keeping to a specified budget. The original New York style warehouse worked well as an evening venue, however the restaurant was keen to refresh the space and increase their lunchtime offering to entice a broader clientele.
Undergoing a minor refurbishment, the space now boasts a more contemporary design concept. The uplifted space features colourful and playful upholstery on the banquette seating, columns clad in vibrant patterned tiles, faux planting and a lighter ceiling paint colour to help brighten and freshen the space. The new finishes helped lift the overall ambience of the restaurant, enabling the venue to change from day to night seamlessly. The addition of pots and faux planting also added another layer to the space, reinforcing the transformation and experience.
